Eagle Eye

Eagle Eye is a fun, fast-paced action film.  Shia LaBeouf has a solid performance in the role of Jerry Damon Shaw,  while Michelle Monaghan's performance was as emotional as could be expected given the role.

Damon describes the film as far-fetched fun morphed into security spookiness.  I consider it to be creepily believable.  It turned out to be much more politically charged and much less like The Matrix than seemed intimated in the previews.

Overall it's one of the better movies I've seen recently.  Had enough funny one-liners to keep me laughing, enough suspenseful mystery to keep me on the edge of my seat and a plot interwoven enough to satisfy my intellectual curiosity.

I recommend Eagle Eye for a good, fun Friday Night.

P.S. Damon felt there were core similarities between this movie and the original story "the Running Man" by Stephen King (not the movie version with the game-show host named Damon played by Richard Dawson).  Rather than expound upon his theories here, you'll have to ask him yourself and let him bend your ear for an hour or two.

The Rocker

Similar to School of Rock, this one is for anyone who enjoys rock-n-roll music and the humorous dynamo involved at times to manage a band.

Rainn Wilson, the "Jack Black" of this film, is in fine form and not just with the comedy, he pounds the skins quite well.

Teddy Grieger, a favorite amongst females of any age, acts as well as he plays.

There are plenty of laughs, good music, and even a couple of motivational moments, "It's Never Too Late" to Rock screams Rainn just when he stage dives into a hapless bunch in an office cafeteria.  "Long Live Rock" indeed, even squeezed into middle-aged second chance comedies.
